This Week’s Science Topic: Phases of the Moon
日本の小学校だと4年生〜6年生で学習する月と太陽についてです。
その中でも「月の満ち欠け、表面の模様」について英語で学びました。
こちらもCLIL（内容言語統合型学習）を元にした指導方法で、子供たちが興味を持つ身の回りの現象を元に、英語で知識を身につけていきます。
単に英単語を記憶するよりも情報が有機的に繋がり定着率が高まります。
また、学習をする中で自然と疑問点が浮かぶと、すぐに英語で質問をしてくれますので、小学校の大人数のクラスではなかなか育ちにくい自発性にも繋がります。
What is a gibbous moon? How about waxing and waning? This week we studied the phases of the moon!
First we studied the vocabulary and filled out some worksheets.
月の満ち欠けとそれに関する英語の語彙について最初に学習します。
Next, we made a handy chart to study the different lunar phases. We also studied about eclipses and how the earth, sun, and moon move.
次に、画用紙を使い、月の満ち欠けの各段階を表示できるクラフトを作成しました。
月食や地球、月の動きと太陽の位置関係についても英語で学びます。
質問もちゃんと英語でできていましたね！
