Hi there! Caitlin here with an update on Week 2 of Summer School! <\/span><\/p>\n

The theme for Summer School Week 2 was music. <\/span><\/p>\n

Many of the kids can play piano or violin, and they know the names of normal musical instruments. But this week, the kids created their own original instruments!<\/span><\/p>\n

\u53c2\u52a0\u3057\u3066\u304f\u308c\u305f\u751f\u5f92\u3055\u3093\u306e\u591a\u304f\u304c\u3001\u30d4\u30a2\u30ce\u3084\u30d0\u30a4\u30aa\u30ea\u30f3\u3092\u5f3e\u3051\u308b\u3088\u3046\u3067\u3059\u3002\u305d\u3057\u3066\u697d\u5668\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u3082\u3088\u304f\u77e5\u3063\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n

We watched a video about a children\u2019s orchestra from Paraguay. Because their village is so poor, many children there cannot afford to study music. Instead, their parents and teachers learned how to make recycled instruments from everyday goods and trash.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u307e\u305a\u3001\u30d1\u30e9\u30b0\u30a2\u30a4\u306e\u5b50\u3069\u3082\u305f\u3061\u304c\u53c2\u52a0\u3059\u308b\u30aa\u30fc\u30b1\u30b9\u30c8\u30e9\u306e\u52d5\u753b\u3092\u307f\u3093\u306a\u3067\u898b\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n

Using straws, hairpins, cups, cardboard, and so on, our students also learned how to make flutes, guitars, and even xylophones!<\/span><\/p>\n

We also explored the science behind sound waves and experimented with how sound moves. Math is connected to music, too, so after learning about fractions and rhythm, the kids wrote and performed their own beats!<\/span><\/p>\n

Some of them played their favorite tunes!<\/span><\/p>\n
